Welcome

Hi there, thanks for taking time to visit my blog. My name is Audrey Lewis, and I'm a busy Mom of 5 kids living in the Boise, Idaho area. I've always had a passion for taking pictures, but I really fell in love once I started having my own children. I realized how fast they grow up, and I wanted to capture every little moment I could so that I don't ever forget these precious years. I love photographing children, there's just something so magical about seeing the world through a childs eyes. I hope you enjoy your visit, and feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

It's cooling off.....

Which means I get to put Abbey in cute little sweaters! Just having some fun playing around with my new lens. I take way to many pictures of this little girl! What can I say, they make me happy! Anyway, I can't get over how red her hair is getting, and I just love it with her big blue eyes!!! Here's a few I took yesterday:

I'm in love with brown:

She's so smiley! And getting so many teeth!

Ribbon Tag

All right Jamie, this post if for you! I made this tag a while ago at a little scrapbook get together I went to. Please excuse the old supplies, I had to work with what they had!!! Anyway, isn't this fun! It's just a rectangular piece of chipboard that I covered with ribbon. It couldn't have been easier, I just ran my tape runner along the ribbon and layered it over the chipboard. Then I added some embellishments to make it cute. I think this would make such a fun cover on a mini album, and it's a great way to use left over ribbon pieces!

Megs

My little niece is the cutest thing ever! She is so tiny and petite, but so full of personality! I just adore this little girl! When she smiles she totally scrunches up her little nose, it's so funny! Here's a few of the pics I got of her.

A Few Photos

We're finally back from North Carolina after 10 fun days! As always, it went by way to fast! We took the opporunity to take some pics of our family on the beach, as well as my sister and brother's families, and my Mom and Dad. I took tons, so I've only scratched the surface so far, I'm sure I'll be sharing more over the next few days. Here's a few:

This picture is a miracle, all 4 of them looking at the same time! Here's my little cuties. I didn't have to photoshop this one at all, I loved the warm colors from the sunset!

My Dad snapped a few of us being silly.

Well, here's my little family. Thanks for taking these Dad!!!

A pic of my adorable parents. I just love these two!!! I'm so blessed, and they are so in love!

This is my sister and her husband. She's due in January with their first baby, a little girl! Isn't she the cutest pregnant lady ever!!!

Focus Audrey, Focus!!!!

Well, I've been playing around with my new lens a lot lately. I got the canon 85mm 1.8 lens. It's fabulous, but I have to admit, I'm having some focusing issues! I'm not sure if it's the fact that my subjects are usually on the run, my settings, my lighting, or what, but I'm determined to figure it out! This photography stuff is more complicated than I thought. I think I'll have to bring some good photography books on my 6 hour airplane ride this week. And get to know my camera manual a little better, I'm sure he's been missing me. Anyway, I was still happy with some of the photos I got....I even had one cute red headed subject that very willing and happy to get his picture taken this time around! He told me that he wanted me to have "A nice picture of me to put up on the wall", isn't he thoughtful!!!!

I used the white chocolate action by Jessica Bell on this one, love how it turned out (who knows, I might even put this on my wall!).

And this is such a classic face from my little guy! I just love his personality!

And this uses Jessica Bell's dark chocolate actions.

This is where I ran into focusing issues. For some reason I couldn't get her face in focus, just the hood around her face! Any tips on how NOT to do this would be great!!!!!

I still think she's cute, even when she's out of focus a bit!

Ha, she looks pretty sassy in this one!

My 3 Boys.....

I've been wanting to do a layout about my three little boys for a long time. I just think there's something special about having 3 little boys, they are so much fun to play with! After number 3 came I pretty much resigned myself to the fact that I would have 5 little boys, my little basketball team. And I was good with that. I was so surprised when little Abbey joined our family, but I couldn't have been happier!!! So here they are, my 3 little rascals. I changed the photos to black and white since none of their clothes matches. The journaling strips are much, much straighter in person. Why don't any of my pages look as good when I scan them, lol!!!!

Just playing around.....

I got my new lens in the mail last night and couldn't wait to try it out!!! It's been so much fun, I'm amazed at what it can do! I'm far from a proffesional, but wanted to share some of the cute pics of I got of abbey today.

I know her head is totally chopped off, but I love the sense of movement in this picture! She loved swinging, she just laughed and laughed!!!

This is when I know a photo session is done with this little girly. She gets so tired she just sticks her thumb in her mouth, folds herself over and tries to go to sleep like this. She does this all the time when she's tired, it's the funniest thing. She'll be playing with some toys and then I'll look over and she's like this. I had to get a shot of it. Too cute!!!

I think the swing surprised her the first time it went high, but she loved it after that. Love her expression!

Just a cute one of her teeth.

Same one just in color. I used Jessica Bell's action "Rainbow Brite" on this one. Love how it made the colors pop!!! You can find her here: http://jessicabellphotography.blogspot.com/ Coolest thing is that she makes some actions that work for PSE, which are hard to find! And they're fabulous, I'm finding myself using them all the time!!!

I didn't use the action on this one, and I can tell a big difference! Not nearly as colorful!

Ok, I know this look is just pitiful, but she cries so rarely that this almost makes me laugh to look at it. This is so her. When she gets mad she wrinkles her nose up just like this, so I love it!!! She was smiling the minute after I took this, she never stays upset for long!!!

Just another one of her enjoying the swing.

"Events" vs. "Moments"

Ok, so I'm what you would call a "Moments" type scrapbooker. I can't even remember the last time I made a Christmas page, a birthday page, or a family vacation layout!!! I just love to do scrap the "moments" stuff, the everyday things that make up our life. And I think it's great (and much easier, since I usually only use one photo to do it). And a lot of times I think "moments" pages tend to get all the glory, while "events layouts" are kind of thrown under the rug. But you know what, I decided a few weeks ago that "Events" aren't such a bad thing to scrap afterall. As a matter of fact, they're pretty darn important!!! I want my kids to know that we went had fun birthday parties, went on family vacations together, had fun Christmas traditions, and what they dressed up as for Halloween! And not only that, it's important! Important that they know that we did these things together as a family, cuz these are the things that unify us. So now I'm going to make a goal to scrap more of the "events" in our life. Don't get me wrong, I won't give up the "moments" stuff, I love it to much. But I think there's a little room in there for a holiday page every once in a while! So here's my first layout after making that goal, and guess what, it was hard to make! 6 pictures on one layout! That's just tough for me! But that's ok, cuz now my kids will always remember the fun trip we recently took to Park City, and I say "yay" to that!

Some Layouts to share......

Love these pics of my little guy. I made this page a while back for a challenge they had in CK.

This was in the August 2007 Creating Keepsakes. My first time in there, I was so excited!

All Mine!!!!

I decided it was time to start my own little "crafty" blog, if it's ever possible to call anything I do "crafty". But I wanted a place to share my layouts and my photos.....so this is it. Thanks for joining me!!!
