Welcome

Hi there, thanks for taking time to visit my blog. My name is Audrey Lewis, and I'm a busy Mom of 5 kids living in the Boise, Idaho area. I've always had a passion for taking pictures, but I really fell in love once I started having my own children. I realized how fast they grow up, and I wanted to capture every little moment I could so that I don't ever forget these precious years. I love photographing children, there's just something so magical about seeing the world through a childs eyes. I hope you enjoy your visit, and feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

New Backdrop

I have always struggled with liking my indoor pictures. I just love the colors and beauty of the outdoors. I think one of my other issues is the fact that whenever I use a white sheet I just hate the wrinkles!!! So I broke down and bought some white seamless paper. I've had it for 2 weeks now and have been dying to use it, but with sick kids I haven't had anyone that I could take pictures of! Well, Abbey is feeling better now and I wanted to take some one year pictures (I'm sure I'll be taking more tomorrow, and the next day, and the day after that). I only had about 15 minutes to shoot, so I didn't get to nearly as much as I wanted, but I will just say that buying the seamless paper is the best $25.00 I've spent in a long time! I really love this stuff! It's soooo much nicer than a sheet!

Here are a few of my favs of Abbey:

Oh, and since some people have been asking, here's the info on my pictures: natural light, ISO 400, Shutter Speed 160, and Aperature was 2.8

These are awesome Audrey! That backdrop is great! Is it just like the kind you'd see at Picture People that you sit on as well as hang behind you? How do you not get the shadows too? Inquiring minds need to know. :o)

Thanks Alison! Yes, they're a lot like the ones at Picture people. It's just a great big roll of paper that you roll down on to the floor. I like that there's no seam with this backdrop. Also, about the shadows, I'm glad you didn't notice them as much as I did. A couple of tricks, don't use the flash! They give indoor pics the worst shadows! Also, move your subject about 4-5 feet from the backdrop, it prevents large shadows. It's not always easy to get 1 year olds to stay in one place though, so that's why some of my pics have more shadows than others. Hope that answers your questions!
